Originally founded in 1988, we are located in the Everedy Square & Shab Row historic district of downtown Frederick Maryland. Everedy Square offers a relaxing shopping experience in historic buildings spread over four blocks on East Street. Our current location was once the home of the Everedy Company, where the Everedy Bottle Capper was invented and manufactured.
We are a small business, locally, woman owned, not a big box, mass produced warehouse gifting site. Specializing in uniquely designed gifts, one-of-a-kind items, artisan pieces from regional designers, gift boxes and baskets.
Hello! I’m Lois Pruitt, the proud owner of The Frederick Basket Co. Growing up on a small farm in Pennsylvania instilled in me the values of hard work and self-reliance from an early age. Since taking ownership in 2016, we have experienced significant growth in sales, expanded our team, increased our client base, and opened a new warehouse production facility. Although I may refer to myself as the "Boss Lady," the success of this business is truly a testament to my exceptional staff, who have helped turn our vision into reality.
My aspiration is to continue expanding our clientele in the coming years, creating a legacy brand for my family and me. The support of the Frederick community has been invaluable to our success. I want people to see The Frederick Basket Co. as a locally owned, woman-led business that embodies integrity and delivers small-town charm with impressive results. Our goal is to offer these substantial services to both corporations and local enterprises, treating every customer with respect, as if they were a friend, and striving to enhance our community—this is my guiding principle. Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding with my dog, Milo, and sampling expired products from the store for a bit of fun.
